“It’s official!  The Winnipeg Labour Council has selected Peter Bjornson as our Labour Endorsed Candidate for Louis Riel School Division Ward 3 by-election happening on October 25.”

-Winnipeg Labour Council

"I have known Peter Bjornson in his former capacity as the Minister of Education and then as an instructor at the University of Winnipeg.  Peter is not only a man of tremendous intelligence, he also has a huge heart for people and not to mention, a great sense of humour!  As a former Superintendent of the Louis Riel School Division I wholeheartedly endorse him as he seeks to become a Trustee in LRSD.  Peter will do a great job for the staff and the students of the Division!"

- Duane Brothers

Former LRSD Superintendent

“Peter has always had the best interests of Manitoba’s education system in mind. As a former student, Peter challenged my colleagues and I to always think bigger picture when entering the world of education and how each can make an impact on the education system. This is why I believe Peter would be best suited for trustee for LRSD,  Ward 3.”

-Tyler James

Former U of W student

“Spanning his entire career, Peter has been a dedicated advocate for all stakeholders in his roles as an educator, MLA and Education Minister. As a School Trustee for Ward 3, Peter will effectively represent and work for the greater community.”

-Frank Restall

Former President Louis Riel Teachers Association

LRSD Teacher 1985 to 2019

“Peter Bjornson has been a valuable member of the TJ’s Gift Foundation Board of Directors twice, once from 2013 – 2015, and then again from 2019 to the present. The Board has appreciated his knowledge and perspective as we have tackled issues surrounding our youth and the impact of drug involvement on society.  With his vast network of educators, he has brought in experts to assist with the development of projects, most notably of which is our children’s book. Little One was facilitated by a teacher suggested by Mr. Bjornson and then created with students from Frontier and Seine River School Divisions. To date over 500 copies of this book have been shared with people not only throughout Manitoba, but also across Canada and into the United States. We have appreciated the involvement and dedication of Mr. Bjornson in all areas of the work of  TJ’s Gift Foundation, but especially for his leadership on the Board of Directors.”

-Karen Wiebe

Retired Teacher, Pembina Trails School Division

"Peter was my high school history teacher and I appreciated his commitment to facilitating an inclusive and though provoking learning enviornment.  He left a lasting impression on me for being a kind and caring teacher and I look up to him for that.  Now that my daughter attends grade 2 in an LRSD school, I'm thrilled at the prospect of Peter having a hand in shaping her educational experiences.  I can't think of a better person for the job."
